At the end of each winter, I say to myself (and my hubby), "I'll be ready for winter next year - surely!". Yet after 16 years of living in green and beautiful England, my body is never ready for the winters we have here. It's like I'm still tuned into what is summer in the southern hemisphere. The biggest effect of the short and grey days on me is reduced energy, most evident after lunch!
So after reading a bit about SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder - my husband decided it was time to try a Lumie Lamp. I have been using it daily for around 45 - 60 minutes a day and it has definitely had a positive impact on my afternoon energy slump.
For those of you who know me, you're probably thinking, "Great, as if Lauren needs more energy!".
www.sad.org.uk is the UK's official site for Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's worth a read, all the way to the end.
And if you're looking for a lamp to help balance your circadian rhythms (these help to regulate and control food digestion, appetite, energy levels, sleep quality and length, and mood, then the one I've been using and can recommend is the Brightspark, found at www.lumie.com
I'd love you to post your thoughts and experiences on my blog, so that we can learn from each other's experiences.
