Thai Yoga Massage
THAI YOGA MASSAGE
Thai Yoga Massage dates back several thousand years, when Buddhism made its way from India to Thailand. It is a very holistic practice, where the human being is seen and treated as an ever-changing network of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects that all influence each other. Therapists work on the ten main energy (sen) lines in the body using acupressure and assisted yoga stretches in order to release physical, emotional and mental blockages. It is both an energising yet deeply restorative practice that will leave you feeling much freer, calmer and more balanced on all levels.
Other Benefits
-
Improved posture, breathing, flexibility, digestion and circulation.
-
Muscles are stretched, inner organs toned and emotional and nervous tension is reduced.
-
A deep sense of peace can be experienced during and after a treatment.
-
It can also be of great therapeutic benefit for a range of specific problems and conditions, such as headaches, back pain, digestive disorders, shoulder and neck tension, joint pain, menstruation problems, insomnia and other stress related conditions.
Here's what a few clients have to say
"I have been a Thai Yoga Massage therapist for 23 years. It is rare to find a therapist who is capable of being continually present all the way through a treatment. In this place it is possible to know what is needed to support and care for your client fully. Lauren is one of those therapists. She is so responsive and sensitive, combined with her huge knowledge base as a yoga teacher, understanding the limits and potential capacity of a body. Lauren is also wonderfully kind and caring which comes through completely in her touch. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone in need of a treatment whatever their condition. I can't wait for my next treatment! " D.H.
“That was a little bit of magic Lauren” E.K.
“I can’t believe I’ve never had one of these before. It’s the way forward for massage!” E.S.
What to Expect
Thai Yoga Massage is done fully clothed (in loose fitting clothes) on a firm futon on the floor. I will use my thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet to apply a combination of acupressure, gentle rocking and twisting, joint and spine mobilisations and assisted yoga stretches. Using bodyweight instead of strength and a steady and meditative rhythm, Thai Yoga Massage looks and feels like a graceful dance between giver and receiver.
Duration
90-120 minutes is an ideal amount of time to do a holistic full body massage.
